MTV Splitsvilla 15 fame, Shubhi Joshi, has garnered a lot of limelight after she claimed in a recent podcast that famous influencer and Bigg Boss 19 ex-contestant, Awez Darbar, was two-timing her with her friend. Although she didn’t mention any name, her allegations made it clear that she was pointing at Awez. However, after his eviction from Bigg Boss 19, Awez slammed Shubhi for her cheating allegations in an interview. Soon after the interview surfaced online, Shubhi shared a lengthy emotional note on her Instagram handle.
Shubhi Joshi opens up about receiving death threats, abuses and more
On October 4, 2025, Shubhi took to her Instagram handle and posted a carousel explaining what happened to her after she claimed in the podcast that Awez had an affair with her and also cheated her. She shared that the past few days were the hardest days of her life. She revealed that she received backlash, death threats and was trolled. Shubhi mentioned that what she said in the podcast was the truth and was not said just to defame a person. She wrote:
“These past few days have been the hardest of my life. I’ve been trolled, abused, threatened and judged for speaking up my own story. The hate I’ve received has been vicious: abuses, slut-shaming, character assassination, and even death threats for me and my family. When I was asked in a podcast, I chose honesty. I chose to speak from a place of truth, not to defame anyone.”
Shubhi Joshi clarifies about Baseer Ali’s ‘common ex’ statement
In the same note, Shubhi clarified that she was not the one whom Baseer Ali mentioned on Bigg Boss 19 as ‘common ex’. For the unversed, in one of the episodes of Bigg Boss 19, Baseer and Awez Darbar get into a fight when the former accuses the latter of two-timing with his ex and makes a statement about ‘common ex’. Shubhi mentioned in her note that Baseer is a good friend of hers. Shubhi shared that she has been labelled as everyone’s ex purely on assumptions. She wrote:
“Let me clear the air, Baseer Ali is and has always been a deeply respected and cherished friend. Nothing more, nothing less. I am not the common ex mentioned in one of the episodes. I was labelled as everyone’s ex purely on assumptions, a claim I never even made. Being judged like that cuts deeper than words can show.”
Shubhi Joshi pleads for an apology to the people
In the concluding lines of her note, Shubhi addressed the people who believed she spoke out for attention or opportunity. Shubhi stated that it was she who chose to step back, emphasising that she values her own identity over being labelled as ‘someone’s ex.’ Shubhi expressed regret if her words had hurt any families, stating that it was never her intention. She added that she needs to protect her name, her family’s dignity and her future. She wrote:
“For people thinking I did it to grab an opportunity, the opportunity was shut down by me, rather than exaggerating the matter. I will always choose my own identity over being labelled as ‘someone’s ex’. I am totally apologetic if that has hurt families. With due respect, that was never my intention. I have my own name, my family’s dignity, and my future to protect, too.”
