Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan, has stepped into the shoes of a director with his debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Produced by Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the Netflix series has already become a topic of discussion. The series promises an adventurous ride into the world of Indian cinema, blending humour with a high-stakes narrative and unforgettable cameos. While the stellar performances won many hearts, it was Bobby Deol who stole the spotlight. In a recent interview, he revealed why he signed the project and shared some unheard stories related to Aaryan Khan.
Bobby Deol recalls the moment when he said ‘yes’ to his role of ‘Ajay Talwar’
In a recent interview with Times Now, Bobby Deol recalled the moment when he got a phone call from Gauri Khan’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. Bobby shared that when he found out Aryan Khan would be directing the show, he instantly said ‘yes’ to the project. He then discussed the challenges that individuals face in the industry at the time of their debut. He especially mentioned Aryan’s name and said that for him, the ‘pressure is unbelievable’ as he is the son of superstar, Shah Rukh Khan. In his words:
“When I got a phone call from Red Chillies that we are making this show and Aryan Khan is directing it, I said, I am doing it. I know how difficult it is to be from the industry and make a debut. To be a super-duper star like Shah Rukh Khan’s son, the pressure is unbelievable.”
Bobby added that he just wanted to stay beside Aryan as he starts his journey as a director. He also shared that when Aryan wanted to narrate the script, he said ‘no’ to it. He was quoted as saying:
“I just wanted to be there for Aryan. He insisted on having a narration first, but I said no, I am doing this, no questions asked.”

The Aashram actor heaped praises on Aryan Khan for his impressive directorial skills, strong vision, and maturity while working on his debut project, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. He shared that seeing Aryan’s passion, detailed approach, writing and wicked sense of humour, he was left in awe. He was totally impressed by Aryan’s clarity and ability to handle a complex show featuring a diverse range of characters, from older people to youngsters.

Recalling a meeting with Aryan at a party about a year ago, before working together, Bobby expressed that there was something special about Aryan that immediately struck him. Although he had known Aryan since he was a child, that half-hour chat showed him a different side of the filmmaker. He mentioned that he felt lucky to be part of this project. In his words:
“In just that half an hour of speaking to him, I have seen him as a kid and all that, but I have never really interacted with him, but when I did, I found out, he is so sorted in many ways. The next thing, when I started working on the sets, I just felt so lucky.”
