    Bonpoint Stages Fashion Show, Celebrates 50 Years


    50 YEARS YOUNG: One model skipped, some walked barefoot, others were shy. They all seemed under 10 and were met with waves of “bravos” emanating from the audience seated along the ground floor of the stately Hôtel de Brancas, site of Bonpoint’s Paris flagship.

    The French luxury childrenswear brand marked a major anniversary with the fashion show Saturday, held during Paris Fashion Week. It was Bonpoint’s first catwalk display since 2019.

    “It’s the 50th anniversary, so it’s important,” said Pierre-André Cauche, chief executive officer of Bonpoint. “What we wanted to say is that Bonpoint is always the same, but dedicated to the future now. That’s why you will see Bonpoint as usual, but within specific decoration, music and a catwalk. It’s a transition between the past and the future.”

    The runway was punctuated with columns decorated with moving, illustrated images of flowers and pink flamingos. Floating open books read “Bonpoint 50 ans d’amour, or “Bonpoint, 50 years of love.”

    Bonpoint fashion included the brand’s iconic floral cotton poplin shirts and dresses, and wicker bags and hats. The event reintroduced its exclusive Couture line, a range of special-occasion outfits that can be customized to order. The collection will be available in about 10 boutiques worldwide.

    To mark its anniversary, Bonpoint also launched early last month a limited-edition capsule collection in its boutiques and online. That features signature touches including its cherry motif hot-stamped in gold, alongside an emblem with two hearts symbolizing the bond between parent and child.

    The fashion show was Bonpoint’s most high-profile initiative since its acquisition earlier this year by Chinese fashion conglomerate Youngor Group.
