Movie buffs who love to revisit their favourite blockbusters on OTT were surprised recently to find SS Rajamouli’s Prabhas-starrer Baahubali films no longer available on Netflix. Both Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion are not available on the streaming platform at the time of writing.
Where can one watch the Baahubali films on OTT?
Fans can, however, relax. The two Baahubali films are still very much available online, so what if they are off Netflix.
The Baahubali films are available on JioHotstar, SonyLIV, Airtel Xstream and Apple TV app. The film is also available on rent on YouTube, the rates being Rs 50 and Rs100.
However, a search for the Baahubali films on Netflix, where the two action epics were earlier available, currently shows a “Remind me” message with a bell icon. While it is common for streaming platforms to remove shows and films temporarily because rights have expired, Netflix has made no such announcement.
Meanwhile, gear up for Baahubali: The Epic
The Baahubali films have been taken off Netflix just ahead of the release of Baahubali: The Epic – a mega movie that combines the two Baahubali films as one for a consolidated viewing experience. Baahubali: The Epic is scheduled for release on October 31, as a commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning, which released on July 10, 2015. Baahubali: The Epic is scheduled to be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
Many users on social media believe the removal of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion could be a strategy meant to encourage fans to catch Baahubali: The Epic when it drops, instead of watching the two films separately.
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj. Its sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, released two years after the first film in 2017, bringing back the primary cast.
