Harry Potter is a series of seven novels written by JK Rowling, which was later turned into a film franchise by Warner Bros. While the popularity of the film series grew among the fans, the world of wizards became an integral part of every child’s growing-up years. The makers made a decision which left the entire world stunned. They announced the return of the popular series, but this time as a television series. However, let’s find out what the Indian fans have to say about the series.
Indian Harry Potter fans react to the return to the world of wizards with the series
Harry Potter was the peak of every 90s kid’s childhood, especially for Indian fans, who made their own makeshift accessories at the time when merchandise was not shipped to India. From finding a stick that resembles a wand to finding our mother’s dupatta to replicate their capes, we have all lived our own Hogwarts fantasy. As they grew up, they introduced the same to their children, siblings, and re-lived the memories through them.
However, what are their thoughts on the return of the world of magic in a brand new format with a brand new cast? Well, the young ones are beyond ecstatic to get their own version of Harry Potter. A user penned, “My aunt and uncle introduced me to Harry Potter. It opened up a whole new magical world for me. One of the most unforgettable moments was when Sirius Black. I was so shocked and devastated by his death that I cried. When I heard about the new series, I literally screamed with excitement. The cast, especially Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron, look perfect.”
On the other hand, millennials believe it will be a good way to catch Gen Z and Gen Alpha up to the world of Harry Potter. While there has been some back and forth between the original fans of the series about its return and changes in the plot, others believe that it’s the best part of the creative freedom. A user penned, “Everyone has the creative liberty to rebuild it. The idea of a female actor playing Voldemort might be shocking to some, but you have to realise that it is part of moviemaking. Personally, I would like to see more Quidditch. It can be quite action-packed and adds a touch of sporting cinema to the fantasy genre.”
