Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have been at each other’s throats for what feels like much of the week. Nicki walked back her insults of Cardi’s daughter Kulture with a public apology on Thursday (Oct. 2), but the Bronx native wasn’t having any of it.
“Dear Kulture, truth is: I did all of this for a bigger purpose and one day you’ll understand. You’re a cute child & lots of kids have cute little funny looking gums before they grow into all of their features,” Minaj began on X. “One day you’ll see this, so I have to say: I apologize. As a child of God & QUEEN of my community who look to me for integrity. You’re an innocent child & don’t deserve any of this.”
Minaj leaned into her pettiness while taking shots at Kulture’s mom in her apology. “One day your mother, aunt & many more will be brought to their knees for what they’ve said AND TRIED to do to my young prophet/beautiful boy,” she continued.
Cardi returned the favor minutes later, penning a letter on X to Minaj’s son, Papa Bear, in the same format the Queens rhymer did to her daughter. The “WAP” rapper also voiced that she’s had enough of mentioning kids in their feud, as she’d prefer to leave them out of the beef moving forward. Cardi B didn’t appreciate Minaj’s apology, which she felt wasn’t sincere.
“Don’t give my child no backhanded apology,” Cardi fired back at Nicki in a separate post. “Keep my child name out your mouth cause imma always take you where you don’t wanna go about mine. Honest truth this goin back and forth about kids is really draining my energy. I don’t wanna keep mentioning kids it feels very nasty and dark but the energy you keep giving my kids imma resend back to messenger.”
The insults have been flying in the back-and-forth, and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight for at least the short term.
Cardi B delivered her long-awaited Am I the Drama? album on Sept. 19, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 200,000 album units earned. As for Minaj, Nicki’s gearing up to open the gates of Gag City with a new project on March 27.
