Speaking about an incident during a recent ad shoot, Raveena revealed how a filmmaker praised the simplicity she and her daughter, actress Rasha Thadani, maintained. “The filmmaker told me it was so refreshing to see Rasha and me share one van, without 10 entourages and 10 vans. He said it was a refreshing change,” she recounted.
Drawing from her upbringing in a film family, Raveena explained that her understanding of the producer’s struggle shaped her outlook. “My father was a producer, so I understand the business side of it. Back in the day, producers had to sell their cars or even their wife’s jewellery just to complete a film,” she said, underlining the sacrifices often made behind the scenes.
Highlighting how star demands impact budgets, she added, “Those who haven’t been exposed to the workings of the industry need to realise the pain of the producer. If you’re taking six or seven vans, it’s fine. But they have to start understanding the business part too.”
Her comments come at a time when Bollywood is increasingly facing criticism over inflated costs due to heavy entourages, vanity vans, and other demands that add pressure to production budgets. While younger actors and established stars alike often travel with large teams, Raveena’s remarks bring attention to the financial burden this creates for producers already managing rising costs of filmmaking.
