The father of Keith Urban’s guitarist, Maggie Baugh, just spoke out amid the country star’s shocking divorce from Nicole Kidman.
“I don’t know anything about it, other than she’s a guitar player for him,” Chuck Baugh told the Daily Mail on Thursday, after footage of a flirty onstage interaction with Urban in April sparked rumors of an alleged connection.
“It’s more of a musician thing than a dating thing,” he continued in comments to the outlet — though he also confessed he has “not heard one way or the other.”
Reps for Urban did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Chuck’s interview.
Page Six confirmed on Monday that the Oscar winner, 58, and country crooner, 57, had parted ways after nearly two decades of marriage. “Sometimes relationships just run their course,” an insider told us, noting that the “Moulin Rouge!” actress “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
Multiple sources told TMZ on Monday that the former couple had been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”
On Tuesday, the “Nine Perfect Strangers” star filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and adding a parenting plan for their daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Eagle-eyed fans quickly picked up on signs of potential strain in the relationship, including a handful of resurfaced interviews in with Urban appeared to awkwardly dodge questions about the mother of his two daughters.
Footage of the “Sweet Things” singer’s April performance at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas also emerged via TMZ. In the clip, Urban sang his 2016 track “The Fighter,” which is thought to have been inspired by his relationship with the “Perfect Couple” star.
When Urban sang the lyrics, “I was born to love you,” he pointed at Maggie, 25, and pointedly looked in her direction. Maggie then joined the performance, singing alongside Urban before embracing at the end of the song.
Urban recently changed the lyrics in the hit song mid-show to include a reference to Maggie, further fueling speculation of a potential link.
A source divulged to Page Six on Tuesday that Kidman is “devastated” by their split. “She feels betrayed,” the source divulged. “She feels really upset.”
Kidman — who stepped out with her sister Antonia on Wednesday — is prioritizing her two children while dealing with the impending divorce. “She’s sad and moving on with her life — and making sure her kids are taken care of,” a source told Page Six on Thursday.
A source for TMZ claimed amid news of the breakup that Urban was already involved with “another woman.”
“All the signs point to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” multiple sources claimed to the outlet. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”
