Doja Cat is set to perform at this year’s LACMA Art+Film Gala, taking place Nov. 1 in Los Angeles, WWD has learned.

Now in its 14th year, cochaired by Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, the event honors leaders in art and film, with proceeds supporting the museum’s exhibitions, acquisitions and educational programs. This year’s honorees are artist Mary Corse and filmmaker Ryan Coogler.

“The Art+Film Gala has hosted an incredible range of musical talent over the past 14 years,” said Chow in a statement. Past performers include Sir Elton John and Charli XCX, who took the stage last year. “Doja Cat is a boundary-breaking creative force who will bring her incomparable energy to the evening.”

A 29-year-old L.A. native and Grammy-winning artist, Doja Cat (born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini) began uploading music to SoundCloud at 16 and broke through with her 2018 viral hit “MOOO!” She went platinum with her 2019 album Hot Pink,” followed by “Planet Her” in 2021, which debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and spawned multiplatinum singles including “Kiss Me More” and “Woman.” She’s headlined Coachella, amassed more than 36 billion streams and recently released her fifth studio album, “Vie.”

Last year’s Art+Film Gala raised $6.4 million and celebrated the works of artist Simone Leigh and filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. The night kicks off with a cocktail, followed by a dinner and performance.

Gucci, the presenting sponsor since the launch of the gala in 2011, dresses many of the evening’s VIPs. The house’s new artistic director, Demna — appointed in March — will make his gala debut this year.

Corse and Coogler are both Californians from the Bay Area. Corse, 80, is a pioneering artist associated with the Light and Space movement, noted for her work in painting. Coogler, 39, is the writer, director and producer behind “Sinners,” the 2025 supernatural period film starring Michael B. Jordan. Cofounder of Proximity Media, he also wrote and directed “Black Panther,” along with its sequel, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Creed” and “Fruitvale Station.”
