Amal Clooney and husband George celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on Thursday and, just two days later, were spotted holding hands on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival to promote George’s new movie, “Jay Kelly.”
For the event, Amal rang in the fall season with a festive 3D flower minidress from Oscar de la Renta.
The dress features a deep red velvet bandeau top and a structural skirt with an appliquéd design of vibrant poppies.
Often opting for longer, elegantly draped silhouettes, Amal chose to have a bit more fun with this youthful and flirty dress from the design house.
Though Oscar de la Renta’s namesake designer passed away just shy of a month after the Clooneys were wed, it was he who personally designed her gown for the event.
Monday night’s look was a subtle anniversary nod to the late designer, whose label is now under the direction of co-creatives Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. That is, however, soon to change, as the duo just announced that they would be stepping down from their positions, leaving another vacancy among major fashion houses.
Amal and George most recently stepped out onto the red carpet to promote “Jay Kelly” at the Venice Film Festival premiere in August, having canceled prior promotional appearances due to a “bad sinus infection.”
Arm-in-arm in New York City, they look better than ever.
