Ranveer Singh is expected to begin filming his upcoming project with director Jai Mehta in the second half of 2026, after completing work on Don 3. As previously reported, the actor has been in discussions for a zombie-based post-apocalyptic film with Mehta, which is set to be produced by Applause Entertainment. The project’s pre-production is currently underway and progressing steadily.

Now, new details have emerged about the film. As per a report by Pinkvilla, the project has been tentatively titled Pralay. The title reflects the film’s central theme, which revolves around a world struck by both natural and man-made disasters. While the setting is dystopian, the core of the story is emotional, focusing on how far one man is willing to go to protect his family under extreme circumstances.
“Pralay is unlike anything seen in Indian cinema before,” a source told the publication. “Though it features a zombie backdrop, it’s essentially a human story about survival and sacrifice. Ranveer is deeply invested in the script and has been working closely with Jai Mehta and the writing team to develop various aspects of the film.”
The film is said to be in the tonal space of international hits like World War Z and I Am Legend, where the protagonist must battle multiple threats—both human and non-human—to save his loved ones. Given the film’s scale and unique world-building requirements, the makers are allowing ample time for pre-production. The team is also in the process of finalizing a top-tier actress to star opposite Ranveer in the lead role.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently preparing for the release of Dhurandhar, which will be followed by Don 3. The actor continues to read scripts and is aiming to build a strong lineup of films for the latter half of the decade.
