Kith is spreading its reach to the Second City, as Ronnie Fieg has announced the boutique’s first location in Chicago.

Kith Chicago will open this weekend with a seven-sneaker Asics collaboration inspired by the World’s Fair ready to launch for the occasion. Fieg confirmed the news Sunday with an Instagram post revealing first looks at the shoes, behind-the-scenes views of the store’s construction and glimpses at additional products including hats for the Chicago Bulls and White Sox.

“When thinking about a concept to bridge New York and Chicago, I found inspiration in the World’s Fair, as both cities famously hosted it in the past,” Fieg said in the caption. “This simple idea evolved into one of the most complex projects I’ve ever worked on with Asics. Two-plus years of sample rounds, 36 total samples before landing on a final eight shoes that feature some of the most premium material mixes and painstaking details Asics and I have ever executed.”

The Kith x Asics sneaker collection will consist of four Gel-Lyte 3 colorways, as well as one edition each of the Gel-Lyte 3.1, Gel-Kayano 12.1, Gel-Mai 0.1 and Gel-Kayano 14.

Doors will officially open for Kith Chicago on Saturday, and a Friday event at the space will include a live panel discussion and the display of collections from two other Asics enthusiasts. Members of the Kith Loyalty program will be entered into a drawing to gain entry into the event.

Each of the sneakers will be available to purchase in-store during the event and upon opening the following day prior to a global release Oct. 6. Pricing has not yet been confirmed.

Chicago marks the 15th U.S. storefront for Kith, counting the temporary space in Dallas. In addition to locations in the Los Angeles area, Miami, Honolulu, New York City and Dallas, Kith has an international presence in Paris, Toronto, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and London.
