Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love & War is already generating major buzz, thanks to its stellar cast and the director’s signature grand storytelling. While fans eagerly wait for a first look or teaser, Ranbir Kapoor recently shared his thoughts on the project during an Instagram Live session. Speaking candidly, he expressed his excitement about working with both his co-stars and the filmmaker he credits for shaping his career. “Love & War is directed by Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and it stars two of my favorite actors—Vicky Kaushal and, of course, my super talented wife Alia Bhatt,” Ranbir said. “It’s also being made by the man who taught me everything I know about cinema. Whatever I’ve learned about acting was first instilled by him. He was a master then, and 18 years later, he’s an even greater master. I’m really happy to collaborate with him again.”
This marks Ranbir Kapoor’s reunion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 18 years. The two last worked together on Saawariya (2007), which served as Ranbir’s debut film. While the film had a polarizing reception, it established Ranbir as a promising talent and highlighted Bhansali’s unique visual and emotional storytelling.
Now, nearly two decades later, Love & War brings them back together—this time alongside two of today’s most acclaimed actors, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The trio’s on-screen chemistry, combined with Bhansali’s cinematic vision, has set high expectations for what is likely to be a powerful film. Produced by Bhansali Productions, Love & War is set to release in theatres on March 20, 2026.
