Tracy Anderson is betting on children’s wellness with her latest launch

The fitness expert, best known for the signature Tracy Anderson Method and product line, is launching limited-edition HeartStone Minis, $285, a lighter 1.5-pound weight, featuring a rose quartz stone, for children. Anderson will also release a curriculum for children, centered around exploration, movement and sound healing.

While Anderson has always wanted to work with children — one of her dreams is to host her own educational show for kids — it was feedback from clients that led to this launch

“Their children are more attracted to the things that I’m putting out than even they are,” she said. “Their kids are climbing on the MyModes or wanting to do my free arms with them or [are] intrigued by my HeartStones.”

In addition to this, Anderson said she was receiving feedback from clients who work with children and had seen the impact the HeartStones could have.

“There was one case where a woman came to me and she said, ‘I have this case with this young girl who hasn’t spoken since she was a child, and she’s a teenager, and I started using your MyMode with her, and after over a decade of not speaking, she started speaking, and it turns out she could speak multiple languages,’” Anderson said.

According to Anderson, one client who is a counselor for children, found that kids were immediately drawn to the HeartStones upon entering her office, often saying “Those look like they have magical powers.”

For Anderson and her community, they do. As with adults, Anderson’s goal for the HeartStone minis is to offer children a way to connect with their bodies and ground themselves in the present moment — it’s also a helpful tool to get away from screens she noted. She’s also seen the benefits with her own children who she said are her “greatest teacher.”

While the weights are a way to mentally ground, they also implement movement in children’s lives without rejection or expectation.

“Many kids become unhealthy physical adults because they were told they weren’t good enough to be in this sport…or they didn’t have the right body type for dance,” Anderson said. “It’s absolutely traumatic how we judge and compartmentalize children’s ability to be able to celebrate movement just because of how talented they are. Having some program that could reach children, where it’s just about learning what movement can do for your body, that is a new adventure every week.”
