Task Episode 4 was released on September 28, 2025 (ET), and it was filled with deep betrayals and fractured loyalties. Titled, All Roads, the episode delivered a tense hour of mounting suspicions, shifting alliances and devastating consequences. Brad Ingelsby brought out his wickedest penmanship for the episode, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield added to it with his impeccable direction. The episode follows ‘FBI Agent Tom Brandis’ essayed by Mark Ruffalo as he inches closer to the web of corruption behind a string of local robberies tied to the Dark Hearts motorcycle gang.
The FBI sting operation falls apart as Task Episode 4 gets tainted with betrayal
Task Episode 4 was one seat-gripping watch for sure. However, as both the FBI and the gang close in on their targets, betrayal on all sides threatens to derail everything. ‘Tom’ and his team used ‘Ray’ (Patrick Patrikios), who was arrested in the last episode, to bait ‘Cliff’ (Raul Castillo) into a meeting at Bailey Park. However, as ‘Tom’s’ suspicion about a leak within the task force grows, he is forced to face the reality as the sting miserably fails.
‘Cliff’ never shows up; instead, the FBI swarms a car occupied by an unsuspecting couple. It’s revealed that ‘Cliff’ had been texting the Dark Hearts, and not the Bureau, and ends up ambushed by ‘Perry’ (Jamie McShane) and ‘Jayson’ (Sam Keeley), leading to a brutal off-screen death that underscores how far ahead the gang is and how compromised the FBI might be.
A glimpse inside the Dark Hearts
Task Episode 4 also gives fans a glimpse into the tension with the gang as Dark Hearts grow. ‘Perry’ learns the truth about ‘Billy Prendergrast’s’ death and confronts ‘Jayson’. He gets furious that the latter lied about killing ‘Billy’, which casts an even darker light on the robberies. ‘Perry’ is further pressured to eliminate ‘Jayson’ by Friday by ‘Vincent Hawkes’ (Brian Goodman), a national club leader. On the other hand, ‘Perry’ becomes suspicious of ‘Eryn’ (Margarita Levieva) and goes to interrogate her about her relationship with ‘Billy’ and her possible role in aiding the robbers.

Task Episode 4 unravels ‘Robbie’s’ plan and ‘Eryn’s’ past weight
‘Robbie’ (Tom Pelphrey) is on the run with ‘Sam’ and ‘Cliff’ and plans to flee across the Canadian border. However, a violent altercation at a riverside truck stop was witnessed by a trucker who captures ‘Sam’s’ photo, threatening exposure. ‘Maeve’ (Emilia Jones), ‘Robbie’s’ daughter, confronts him over the chaos he’s created and demands that he turn ‘Sam’ in or she will.
On the other end of the spectrum, ‘Eryn’ is forced to face her secret affair with ‘Billy’ as it further complicates her position. While she convincingly lies to ‘Perry’, Task Episode 4 solidifies that her lies won’t last for long. Especially with her intent to break from her violent partner, ‘Jayson’.
Task Episode 4 delivers a final blow with ‘Cliff’s’ death
Task Episode 4 ends with ‘Cliff’s’ death at the hands of ‘Jayson’, who suffocates him after he refused to betray ‘Robbie’. On the other hand, as ‘Perry’ continues the investigation, he finds an old picture of ‘Billy’ holding the same gun found in ‘Cliff’s’ car next to ‘Maeve’. With the FBI still unaware of their mole and a gang that’s always one step ahead, Task Episode 4 leaves us with one truth: nobody is safe.
