Just a few days after CEO Carl Pei indicated that the Nothing Phone 3 is to launch soon, new rumours and leaks have started churning. Earlier this week, Nothing offered a brief teaser of the upcoming Phone 3 during the epilogue of The Android Show, hinting at what could be its most ambitious release to date. The company described the phone as its first “true” flagship device, suggesting a significant step-up in both performance and design compared to its predecessors. Nothing also indicated that the Phone 3 will carry a price tag reflective of its premium positioning, marking a departure from the more accessible pricing of previous models.

However, beyond the references to AI integration and capabilities, the company has yet to share concrete details about the phone’s specifications, features, or design. But a recent leak suggests that its camera skills and battery capacity will be much better than its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 2 (review). Let’s compare, shall we?

Nothing Phone 3 tipped feature better hardware than Phone 2

The Nothing Phone 3 has recently been spotted on the GSM database under the model number “A024”, hinting that development is progressing steadily, according to a SmartPrix report.

Citing its own sources, the report states that the Phone 3 will feature a substantially redesigned camera system, marking a significant upgrade over previous models. This new setup is said to include three camera sensors, one of which could be a larger periscope-style telephoto lens. This should not come as a surprise, since Nothing Phone 3a series and CMF Phone 2 Pro also feature a triple camera setup. And it is only natural that a flagship phone will bring better camera skills than the company’s mainstream phones. For context, the Nothing Phone 2 includes a dual rear camera system and a single sensor on the front. It includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor.

In terms of battery life, Nothing is reportedly planning a slight increase in capacity, with the Phone 3 expected to house a battery rated at just above 5,000mAh. For comparison, the Phone 2 featured a 4,700mAh battery, while both the Nothing Phone 3a Pro and CMF Phone 2 max out at 5,000mAh. Though not a dramatic boost, the added capacity may provide users with more reliable day-to-day performance.

Interestingly, the Phone 3 is also tipped to launch with Android 15 pre-installed, even though Android 16 may be available by the time the device reaches consumers. This could indicate a focus on stability and optimisation, rather than chasing the very latest version of the operating system.

All in all, while official specifications remain unconfirmed, these early leaks suggest the Phone 3 is shaping up to be a noteworthy step forward in Nothing’s smartphone lineup. But wait for the official details.

    Nothing Phone 3 price

The launch of the Nothing Phone 3 appears to be on the horizon, as CEO Carl Pei has now shared early details regarding its expected pricing. While he hasn’t disclosed specific pricing for all regions, Pei has provided a general idea of what consumers can expect to pay for the upcoming device—indicating it will be positioned firmly in the premium segment.

In a recent video published by the Android YouTube channel, Pei revealed that the Phone 3 will be priced at “around EUR 800,” which roughly translates to $1,063 in the US and approximately Rs 90,500 in India based on current exchange rates. This marks a significant jump from the Nothing Phone 2, which debuted in India at a starting price of Rs 44,999. Such a dramatic increase—nearly double—may come as a disappointment to those who were hoping for a more affordable upgrade.

That said, Nothing has been working on the Phone 3 for the past two years, with the company repeatedly emphasising its focus on delivering a refined AI-driven experience and overall high-end performance. Whether consumers will embrace this new pricing strategy remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Nothing is aiming to elevate its status in the premium smartphone market with the launch of the Phone 3.
