After a successful global release and a massive distribution deal in China, Love in Vietnam—starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur—is now set for a wide theatrical release in South Korea this November 2025. Distributed by Korean film studio Dreamfact Entertainment, this marks another milestone for the film, which has been breaking new ground in Bollywood’s international reach. Following its landmark China deal—where it will be released on over 10,000 screens—Love in Vietnam is now making headlines as one of the few Indian films to secure a theatrical release in South Korea.

    India–Vietnam Collaboration Finds Global Footing

Directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi, Love in Vietnam is the first-ever India–Vietnam cinematic collaboration. The film stars popular Indian actors Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, alongside veteran performers Farida Jalal, Raj Babbar, and Gulshan Grover. It also features Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan, making it a true cross-border ensemble.

The film is based on the international best-seller Madonna in a Fur Coat, and has been adapted for screen by Kritika Rampal. Set against the scenic backdrop of Vietnam, it tells a heartfelt story of love, sacrifice, and emotional connection that transcends cultures.

Director and Producer Share Their Vision

Speaking about the film’s journey, director Rahhat Shah Kazmi said: “Love in Vietnam was born out of a deep love for storytelling and a belief in cinema’s ability to connect cultures. It’s been a personal journey, and the response from audiences worldwide has been truly humbling.” Producer Captain Rahul Bali, who played a key role in connecting the Vietnam–India collaboration, added: “This film is more than a cinematic project—it’s about building a cultural bridge between two vibrant civilizations. The response has shown that love and cinema truly transcend borders.”

South Korea Distribution Deal and Cultural Impact

Dreamfact Entertainment, a leading Korean production and distribution company, acquired the rights to Love in Vietnam for the Korean market shortly after watching the film. Ms. Jihyon Byon, Head of Overseas Distribution at Dreamfact, shared: “We’re proud to bring Love in Vietnam to Korean theatres. It’s more than a love story—it’s a celebration of cross-cultural connections. Korean audiences have always appreciated strong emotional narratives, and this film delivers exactly that.” Mr. Hak Joong, CEO of Dreamfact, added: “Releasing this film in Korea is symbolic. It’s only the second Bollywood movie to hit Korean theatres post-COVID, and it signifies the start of a new chapter in India–Korea cinematic exchange.”

Before the pandemic, only a handful of Bollywood films—like Black (2005), My Name is Khan (2010), 3 Idiots (2011), and English Vinglish (2014)—were released in Korean cinemas. More recently, Kill (2024) became the first post-COVID Bollywood film to secure a theatrical release in Korea, making Love in Vietnam a rare and important addition to this list.

A Musical Journey Rooted in Bollywood

No Bollywood romance is complete without music, and Love in Vietnam features a soulful, emotionally rich soundtrack. The album includes contributions from celebrated artists such as Armaan Malik, Amaal Mallik, Jubin Nautiyal, Meet Brothers, Malkit Singh, Varun Jain, Harshdeep Kaur, and Raghav Chaitanya. The soundtrack has resonated with audiences globally, adding another layer of depth to the story’s emotional core.

Presented by Zee Studios and Backed by an International Team

Love in Vietnam is presented by Zee Studios and produced by a powerhouse team: Rahat Kazmi Film Studios, Blue Lotus Pictures (Omung Kumar), Innovations India, Captain Rahul Bali, And Productions, Zebaish Entertainment, Tariq Khan Productions, Mango Tree Entertainment, Samten Hills (Dalat), and Global Impex, with support from Alphaa Productions and Devansh Bhardwaj.

The project is also supported by the Embassies of India and Vietnam, the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA), Vietnam Airlines, Vietravel, Furama Resorts, Sun Group, and a talented cross-cultural artistic team.

    Strengthening Cultural and Economic Ties

Jatin Tomar, Co-CEO of Dreamfact Entertainment (Overseas), has played a key role in bringing Love in Vietnam to Korean screens. A young entrepreneur from India, he sees cinema as a way to build bridges between nations. “Cinema is a universal language that brings people closer. Through this release, we hope to boost not only cultural understanding but also business and tourism between India and Korea.”

Love in Vietnam is more than just a romantic drama. It’s a landmark achievement in international film collaboration, showcasing the universal language of love and storytelling. With its upcoming South Korean release, the film continues to break barriers and bring audiences across borders closer together. Catch Love in Vietnam in theatres across South Korea from November 2025.
