MILAN – Actress, writer, and director Maude Apatow will be the 20th recipient of the annual WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award.

Apatow attended the Max Mara spring 2026 show in Milan on Thursday morning.

She will receive the award, which recognizes a rising artist’s excellence, during the 2025 WIF Honors on Nov. 6.

“It is with immense pride that we name Maude Apatow the 2025 WIF Max Mara Face of the Future. Maude truly embodies the spirit of Max Mara – her multifaceted talent, combined with her unique style and sharp business sense reflects the very DNA of our house,” said Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, granddaughter of founder Achille Maramotti and Max Mara Fashion Group board member. She added that “2025 is a significant milestone, marking two decades of this prestigious award. Through our valued, longstanding partnership with Women in Film, we continue our commitment to celebrating extraordinary female talent, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome Maude into the Max Mara family.”

Apatow is best known for her role as Lexi Howard on HBO’s Emmy and BAFTA-nominated TV series “Euphoria,” with the third season to be released in 2026.

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Max Mara Face of the Future Award, and we could not imagine a more inspiring rising star to carry that legacy forward than Maude Apatow,” said Kirsten Schaffer, chief executive officer of WIF. “With her recent directorial debut and entrepreneurial vision through Jewelbox Pictures, Maude is expanding her own creative horizons while championing more women to step into leadership roles across the industry. We are deeply grateful for two decades of meaningful partnership with Max Mara, and thrilled to celebrate this milestone together by honoring such an exceptional talent.”

Last year, Apatow launched Jewelbox Pictures, a film and television production company, alongside longtime creative partner Olivia Rosenbloom. The first project developed by the company, “Poetic License,” written by Raffi Donatich, marked Apatow’s feature directorial debut and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.

In 2024, Apatow made her professional stage debut starring as Audrey in the Off-Broadway production of “Little Shop of Horrors,” followed by the role of Sally Bowles opposite Mason Alexander Park in Rebecca Frecknall and Tom Scutt’s critically-acclaimed West End production of “Cabaret.”

Actress Joey King received the award last year. Founded in 1973 as Women in Film, Los Angeles, WIF advocates for and advances the careers of women working in the screen industries, to achieve parity and transform culture. Past recipients include Yara Shahidi, Lili Reinhart, Zazie Beetz, Gemma Chan, Elizabeth Debicki, Alexandra Shipp, Zoey Deutch, Natalie Dormer, Kate Mara, Rose Byrne, Hailee Steinfeld, Chloë Grace Moretz, Katie Holmes, Zoë Saldana, Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin, Emily Blunt and Maria Bello.
