Actor Ali Fazal is set to take on a new challenge in his upcoming web series Raakh on Prime Video, where he plays a police officer for the first time in his career. The series also marks his first collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Prosit Roy — a director he had long hoped to work with.

Prosit Roy, known for directing Anushka Sharma’s psychological horror film Pari, the upcoming sports biopic Chakda Xpress, and the critically acclaimed Paatal Lok, brings his signature style of layered storytelling and atmospheric tension to Raakh. For Ali, being part of this project is not only exciting due to the character he plays, but also because it gave him the chance to work with a director he deeply admires.
Speaking about the collaboration, Ali Fazal said, “Working with Prosit Roy had been on my wishlist for a long time. I remember watching Pari and being struck by how he built an entire world through mood, silence, and tension. His craft stood out to me. Ali added that when Raakh came his way and he learned that Prosit was directing it, it felt like a long-held wish had come true. “Playing a cop for the first time has been both challenging and exciting, and to explore this character under Prosit’s direction was a unique experience. He pays close attention to detail and pushes you as an actor in a way that feels supportive. It was an unforgettable process.”
Raakh is directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy, and created, written, and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket. The series also stars Sonali Bendre in a key role and is already considered one of the most anticipated upcoming releases on Prime Video. With this role, Ali Fazal continues to diversify his body of work and further establish himself as one of the most versatile actors in the industry. Raakh brings together a compelling creative team and marks an important milestone in Ali’s career.
