Dhanush has been actively promoting his upcoming film ‘Idli Kadai’ over the past few days. At the pre-release event held in Madurai on Wednesday, he received a heartwarming response from the audience. The actor grew emotional and was seen teary-eyed when the child actor portraying his younger self in the film, along with the child’s mother, came on stage to pay him a touching tribute.

Speaking in Tamil, the child’s mother said, “Greetings, everyone. I am overjoyed today that Dhanush sir chose my child to act in his film. But more importantly, I’ve been fond of Dhanush for a long time now. I have been praying for something like this for a long time. When he asked my son to act in the film, I felt such joy. Thank you so much.”

Overwhelmed by the beautiful words, Dhanush got emotional and thanked everyone.

‘Idli Kadai’ is written, directed, and co-produced by Dhanush under Wunderbar Films, with Dawn Pictures also on board as producers. Dhanush plays the lead role, with Sathyaraj, R Parthiban, Samuthirakani, and Rajkiran in supporting roles. Nithya Menen and Shalini Pandey also play pivotal characters in the movie, and GV Prakash has composed the music.

The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 1, 2025, and will also be available in Telugu as ‘Idli Kottu’.
