Survivor, America’s most favourite reality show, is all set to premiere on September 24, 2025. A group of contestants from all walks of life are ready to engage in the game of hunger, survival, and alliances to take home a million dollars. However, this time the excitement among people to meet the participants is tenfold since it was revealed that two players had been replaced less than a day before the show.
Survivor host Jeff Probst stated that this will serve as a warning to future contestants that the show is to be taken seriously. Hence, who are the contenders that finally made the cut and will be spending the next many weeks in Fiji? Let’s take a look at them.
Survivor season 49 includes the youngest communications director of Congress and a musician
Kimberly Davis is the lead singer of the band Trashy Annie. She is also a triathlete and a mountain climber, which she can hopefully use to her advantage. Alex Moore, on the other hand, is quite familiar with politics, as the 27-year-old is one of the youngest communications directors in the history of the United States Congress. He is also going to apply the lessons he learned in his career to the politics of Survivor. In an interview with Parade, Alex shared his strategy and said:
“Use gossip to your advantage, don’t tell anyone what you find, and don’t get suckered by a cute girl.”
Jake Letimar is playing Survivor for his dad, meanwhile, Jason Truel says he will hit the gym if voted out first
Jake Letimar is a Canadian correctional officer. As the newest contestant of Survivor Jake shared with Parade that he wanted to appear on the show so that his father, who has glaucoma, can see him on the TV before he loses his eyesight. Jake also called himself a ‘nice guy’ and stated that it would be a dream come true to win the huge prize money for his son. Jason Truel, the other participant, is a former Google engineer and now works as a law clerk. In a chat with Entertainment Weekly, Jason revealed what he will do if he is voted out first and said:
“I will wake up before work every day for a year to go to the gym because clearly the reason that I was voted out first was because I am the smallest dude and I need to up my threat level a little bit.”
Survivor contestants from Los Angeles, Ontario and Houston
Jawan Pitts is a video editor who is based in Los Angeles. He shared that the fact that he moved to Hollywood to pursue his dreams has made him confident that he is capable for more and hence he is in Survivor. Jeremiah Ing, meanwhile, is a global events manager from Ontario. He revealed the that for him the ideal alliance partner is someone who is loyal and fun. Kristina Mills is a career coach from Houston who said that watching Survivor season 45 helped her to deal with a tough phase in her life.
Matt Williams and Michelle Chukwujekwu in Survivor season 49
Matt Williams works as an airport ramp agent. He also stated that in case he wins the million dollar prize, he will use it to open a restraurent because he loves to cook. Meanwhile, Michelle Chukwujekwu was placed on game show at the last moment. She shared with EW:
“It definitely wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. But season 47 was my first season watching and it was my first time applying. A lot of people do this for years, so I was very grateful. And you never know who might get sick or get scared and drop out. I’m 100 percent ready to go in.”
Survivor premiere: MCU producer and financial crime consultant in the show
Nate Moore has worked with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly a decade and also produced the iconic Black Panther. So he believes that he knows about how to work among different people and try to have fun even during challeneges which he is sure will help in the show. Nicole Mazullo, on the other hand, is a financial crime consultant and has experience of catching people’s deception.
Son of Albanian immigrants, a social worker and a former journalist in Survivor
Nico Velovic is the son of Albanian immigrants and hence want to win the show in their honour. Sage Ahrens-Nichols is a clinical social worker with a fierce personality and champion of women empowerment. Savannah Louie is a former journalist skilled in making people trust her. All these different people will be seen in Survivor season 49.
Sophi Belerdi and Sophie Segreti will be seen in Survivor premiere
Sophi Belerdi’s grandmother was a fan of the show and learned English watching it. Hence, Sophi is determined to win the game in honor of her late grandma. Sophie Segreti is also part of the Survivor fandom and has watched many seasons of the show. She also shared that her experience of business school has prepared her for the game.
Survivor contestants, a NASA engineer and a wellness specialist
Steve Ramm is an engineer with NASA and also grew up with hearing loss, as a result, he stated that he is a good communicator. Shannon Fairweather, meanwhile, is a wellness specialist and leads a digital community for women. Both of them are going to participate in Survivor.
