This statement comes in the context of former US President Donald Trump having previously accused India and China of bankrolling the war between Ukraine and Russia through energy purchases. In his message, Zelensky emphasized building bridges with India, directly countering narratives that might isolate the nation. The Ukrainian President’s quote was, “India is mostly on our side, we do have energy problems but those can be managed. Europe must now look at building strong ties with India, we must not withdraw from India.”
