Queen Maxima of the Netherlands highlighted one of Belgium’s couture designers, wearing a Natan coordinated look alongside daughter Princess Amalia and Queen Silvia of Sweden for the opening session of the General Assembly at the United Nations on Tuesday in New York City.

A longtime champion of Natan’s designs, Queen Maxima’s ensemble featured an olive green coordinated blouse and wide-leg trousers. The long-sleeve top featured some subtle fabric gathering and pleating at the neckline, while a fabric belt added definition to the silhouette at Queen Maxima’s waist.

The monochrome look was further accentuated by Queen Maxima’s pointed-toe heels. As for Princess Amalia, the heir apparent to the throne of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the 21-year-old gravitated toward youthful finesse with a touch of sophistication.

Princess Amalia took on royal power suiting in a pink ensemble with wide-leg trousers and a matching blazer with dark buttons. She added a brown scoop-neck top beneath her blazer and accessorized the look with gold jewelry pieces.

Natan’s designs aren’t exclusively favored by Queen Maxima. Indeed, Queen Mathilde of Belgium, the country where the couture label was founded, has worn designs from the brand before, most notably for Belgium’s National Day in July.

Founded by Edouard Vermeulen in 1983, Natan celebrated its 40th anniversary with an exhibition in November 2023. The exhibition featured several designs, including pieces worn by Queen Mathilde, her eldest daughter and heir apparent Princess Elisabeth, as well as Queen Maxima.

The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly began on Monday and concludes on Sept. 30. The 2025 theme for the assembly is Better Together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights. Dignitaries and leaders from nations across the globe convene in New York City for ongoing conversations on global affairs and conflicts.
