The award holds added significance because Shah Rukh, despite being one of the most celebrated actors in the world for over three decades, had never before won a National Award. His portrayal in Atlee’s Jawan—a high-octane action drama co-starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone—was widely praised for balancing mass appeal with emotional depth.
