Akshay Kumar, who is currently busy promoting his latest release Jolly LLB 3, recently appeared on Rajat Sharma’s popular talk show Aap Ki Adalat. During the candid conversation, the actor credited Aamir Khan for his marriage with wife Twinkle Khanna, while sharing a lighthearted anecdote from their early days of dating.

Akshay Kumar credits Aamir Khan for his marriage to Twinkle Khanna: “She said she’d marry only if Mela doesn’t work”

Akshay revealed that when Twinkle’s film Mela with Aamir Khan was about to be released in 2000, the couple was already in a relationship. “I asked her, ‘Let’s get married?’ But she didn’t want to marry then. She said she’d marry only if Mela doesn’t work. Everyone believed it would work wonders because it was an Aamir Khan film with Dharmesh Darshan directing. Sorry Aamir Khan sahab, that film of yours didn’t work. But I got married because of you,” Akshay joked.

He further recalled that on their wedding day, both he and Twinkle were shooting separately until 6 pm. They later tied the knot in a quiet ceremony on the terrace of a friend’s house, keeping the affair intimate and low-key.

Meanwhile, Akshay’s courtroom drama Jolly LLB 3, released on September 19, 2025, is currently in the spotlight. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film brings together Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, who reprise their popular lawyer characters—Jagdishwar Mishra aka Jolly from Jolly LLB 2 and Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly from the original 2013 film. The two cross paths in a witty yet high-stakes legal battle, with Saurabh Shukla returning as Justice Sunderlal Tripathi.

Backed by Star Studios, Jolly LLB 3 has generated strong buzz for its engaging courtroom clashes, sharp dialogues, and the face-off between the two “Jollys.”
