Himachal Pradesh Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh, son of six-time Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Raja Virbhadra Singh, married for the second time in Chandigarh on September 22.

The bride, Amreen Sekhon, is a distinguished academic with double master’s degrees in English and Psychology, along with a PhD in Psychology. Currently, an Assistant Professor at Panjab University, she is also an old friend of Vikramaditya. Sekhon has also studied at Harvard University. She is the daughter of Sardar Jotinder Singh Sekhon and Opinder Kaur.

Born on October 17, 1989, Vikramaditya Singh carries forward the rich political legacy of his father. A key leader of the Indian National Congress, he currently represents the Shimla Rural constituency in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and holds the portfolios of Public Works and Urban Development in the state cabinet.

In 2024, the Congress heavyweight unsuccessfully contested the parliamentary elections for Mandi against actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut.

Singh was earlier married in 2019 to Princess Sudarshana Chundawat of Amet, Rajasthan. However, the marriage ended in November 2024 due to domestic differences.

Educated at Bishop’s School in Himachal Pradesh, Singh earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Hansraj College, Delhi University in 2011 and completed his post-graduation in History in 2016. Apart from his political career, Singh is also a sports enthusiast and a national-level trap shooter, having won a bronze medal in 2007.
