The resulting collection fuses the nostalgic, theatrical, and the slightly impractical into a versatile edit of staples that can be worn in and out of the home. For Smith, the love for the Reformation stems from her personal style ethos. “They started in vintage, and I love sustainability and reusing pieces. When wearing any Reformation piece, I always feel effortless and very confident,” she explains. She found inspiration in the ’50s, and the way that dresses fit back then, plus the powerful women who wore them. “The silhouettes felt very intentional; that really resonated with me. All of their pieces have that same vintage-inspired mood.”
The capsule will consist of both apparel and accessories, including new shoe styles and a bag. “The collection is so broad, and you can wear any of these pieces at any point in the day, or for any occasion. You can wear the Honey Knit dress with the fur cuffs, or without. You can wear these pieces styled together or with something else. I wanted them to feel cohesive in the collection, but not like you couldn’t wear them with other pieces. Versatility is important.” Her main goal? For women to feel confident and comfortable, in whatever role they want to embody that day—be it an executive type, stay-at-home mother, or woman about town.
