Imagine if the beauty trends of the 1960s and the 1990s had a baby. Such was the case at the H&M&180: The London Issue fashion show on Thursday night, where grunge makeup mingled with retro hair to create a modern-day ingenue siren.

On the runway, models such as Alva Claire, Iris Law and Lila Moss, daughter of Kate Moss, walked with punky prowess, boasting teased BumpIts and black eyeliner like an evil Austin Powers angel. Meanwhile, stars such as music artist Lola Young and Emily Ratajkowski elevated their signature looks with heavy eye makeup and nude lipsticks. Elsewhere, British model Mia Regan ignited the shag hair trend with a layered cut on the red carpet.

Ahead, WWD breaks down the best hair and makeup moments from Ratajkowski to Model of the Year Alex Consani.

Emily Ratajkowski arrived at the runway show in London with thin black eyeliner jetting out from the corners of her eyes. The color in her waterline wasn’t nearly as precise; instead, it was smudged and faded. Bronzer was all she wore in her crease, while a terracotta-colored hue dressed her lips. Her medium brown hair, layered around her face, was styled straight.

    Alex Consani

Alex Consani didn’t stray too far from her day-to-day beauty aesthetic. In fact, the 22-year-old model kept her product use light, opting for an even-toned base to match her bleached and barely there eyebrows. Like Ratajkowski, Consani’s hair was straight, not a wave insight. Her lips were also lined in a dark caramel shade. The aesthetic was on par with New York Fashion Week beauty trends, where “mannequin skin” was favored.

    Iris Law

Iris Law modeled a fur wrap with a contemporary take on the BumpIt trend from the ’60s. Here, the back half of her bleached-blond pixie cut was teased and pinned up on the crown of her head; her front pieces parted in the middle and lay flat on both sides. The harsh dye exposed her dark roots, accentuating the charcoal-colored shadow hollowing out the shape of her eyes. Meanwhile, her eyebrows featured razor-thin cuts, a trend that first ensued online a few years back.

Lola Young performed on and walked along the H&M&180: The London Issue show runway on Thursday night, and she did both with her signature blond highlights. The harsh dye folded between the body of her dark brown hair, painting parts of unexpected strands. Her makeup included sparkles lining her brow bone, thick clusters filling her lash line and rhinestones dotting her cheeks.

Lila Moss flashed pools of black eyeliner and skinny brows on the H&M&180: The London Issue runway at 180 the Strand on Thursday night. Meanwhile, her muddy blond hair was styled in a messy half-up, half-down look, the back of her hair propped up on the crown of her head like a bird’s nest. Her lips were, for the most part, bare; the faint color was trumped by the rich red hue of her jacket.

    Mia Regan

Mia Regan positioned herself as the leader of the shag hair trend, which is predicted to be big this fall. The model posed for the cameras on the red carpet before the show with uneven forehead bangs and choppy layers framing her face. The body of her brown hair was styled in loose waves as if it had only air-dried after the shower.

Ava Claire with a bold lip on the H&M&180: The London Issue show runway.

Model Ava Claire tapped into burgeoning makeup trends, opting to pair her inky hair with a bold, black lip on the runway. The glossy color appeared as if it were the only product on her face, while the front half of her hair was slicked along the sides of her head and tucked under her faux fur jacket collar. The aesthetic brought to mind that of Jenna Ortega’s recently, which has subsequently inspired a Gothic and “tired girl” makeup obsession, rendering the “clean girl” aesthetic “out of style” ahead of fall.

    Amelia Gray Hamlin

Amelia Gray Hamlin partnered her black lace get-up with a sinister makeup look involving misty gray shadow. The moody hue circled her eyes under her bushy brows. Her lips were lined in a taupe hue on top of a matte, burnt sienna-colored lip shade. The runway star’s sleek black hair was straightened and pushed behind her shoulders, revealing the dainty straps of her dress.
