Jolly LLB 3 hit the theatres on Friday, September 19, 2025, and created a stir on social media. The movie, which began with modest promotions and buzz, might go on to be one of the most successful Bollywood releases of 2025. The courtroom drama brings back the iconic ‘Jollys’, featuring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, along with the beloved judge of the franchise, Saurabh Shukla. The movie brought attention to a pressing social issue with sensitivity and humour. Read to know what worked for the movie and what didn’t.

Jolly LLB 3 is powered by the cast’s impressive performance

According to X reviews of viewers, the greatest strength of Jolly LLB 3 is the convincing performance of its leads. People heaped praises on ‘Jolly Mishra’ (Akshay Kumar) and ‘Jolly Tyagi’ (Arshad Warsi), and their impeccable ‘comic timing’. The movie pitted the two leads of the previous two instalments against each other in the third part. The actors lived up to their reputation of the franchise and delivered their usual humorous dialogues, with their court banter being one of the most enjoyable parts of the film.

Praising Akshay and Arshad, a fan wrote on X, “#ArshadWarsi makes you exclaim once again that he deserves to be seen so much more. Comedy comes to him naturally and that’s something he does well in the first half. However, he gives a different spin to the climax where he is superb.” Another stated, “first #OMG2 then #Kesari Chapter2 and now #JollyLLB3 Khiladi #Akshay Kumar has delivered a third quality sequel within two years. Content king for a reason!”

There was no doubt in the fact that Akshay and Arshad would prove themselves once again through their acting. However, the other character besides them that has truly won the audience’s hearts is Saurabh Shukla. Online reviews are flooded with comments about the veteran actor’s contribution to the movie through his bombshell statements. His role took centre stage particularly in the climax. “#SaurabhShukla’s role is all the more fleshed out this time, and every time he appears on screen, he is on fire. Watch out for him in the climax, he is a riot. An award winning act again,” wrote a fan.

Another stated, “#SaurabhShukla puts up a masterclass act… His witty one-liners, subtle expressions, and balanced approach make him the soul of the narrative.” The audience also praised the acting of the negative forces of the film, Gajraj Rao and Ram Kapoor, calling them ‘brilliant’. However, what fans felt was a missed opportunity was the limited screentime and ‘minimal scope’ of Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao, the actresses who played the wives of the two ‘Jollys’. They added nothing significant to the plot and remained in the shadows.

Jolly LLB 3‘s tight screenplay and humour punch led the show

Besides the actors’ stellar performances, Jolly LLB 3‘s tight screenplay was what made the movie work. The franchise is known to deal with sensitive social issues, and its instalment was about a farmer’s suicide after his land was usurped treacherously, leaving him penniless. His widow, played by Seema Biswas and her emotional depiction of her misery, added nuance and depth to the film. While she tugs at your heartstrings with her poignant performance, the two ‘Jollys’ strike a perfect balance with humour.

The courtroom scenes took some creative liberty, which the Bombay High Court deemed a mockery of the judiciary. However, it was necessary to make the movie’s content feel less heavy. It is the franchise’s classic ‘Jolly good’ way of delivering a strong message in an entertaining manner. Fans aptly called the movie a complete package.

Scope for improvement: The first half needed tighter pacing

Everything worked out for Jolly LLB 3, except for the movie’s uniform flow. According to fans, the first half required a tighter pacing. They felt that a few sequences were unnecessarily drawn out and could have been more concise. The second half, on the other hand, compensated for it. It will not let you turn your head away from the screens, even for a minute, as every scene includes a witty comeback or a vital revelation necessary for the court proceedings.

Most film critics gave the film a rating of 4/5, and the reviews claim that the film offered the classic Bollywood excellence that they had been missing for a long time. Thus, the overall verdict is a thumbs up for the movie, with Subhash Kapoor’s vision being perfectly put to life by the actors.
