The star’s conversation with Nicole Kidman for Vanity Fair ended up going super viral as she explained why she called their fellow A-list pal Laura Dern “Dern” instead of Laura.
In the interview, Nicole said: “I hate how you call her Dern,” to which Reese replied: “You know why I call her Dern? [It’s] because my name is Laura, and her name is Laura, and it’s confusing to me.”
“My real name is Laura Jeanne, and it’s confusing to me,” she continued. “So that’s why I call her Dern, because we both can’t be Laura.”
