Now, as reports mentioned that the actress was set to return from her break to reprise her role in the sequel to Kalki, producers revealed that the actress is not part of the project. Deepika has been the lead character in the movie, and her exit surely left everyone wondering what might have led the actress to quit.
Production house Vyjayanthi Movies recently dropped an announcement post stating that the actress will not be part of the sequel. Netizens have mixed reactions to this announcement, and while some remain disappointed that Deepika will not reprise her role, others suggest alternative actresses’ names, such as Mrunal Thakur and Kreethy Suresh, among others.
The announcement post seemed a little salty to Deepika’s fans, as it mentioned that the movie deserves commitment. This left everyone to wonder if there had been any disagreement between the makers and the lead actress, Deepika Padukone. Deepika or her team are yet to react to this or release any statement. The announcement from the production house could be read as:

Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

For the unversed, Deepika Padukone was earlier removed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, reportedly due to shift issues. If the reports are to be believed, Deepika demanded an 8-hour shift, along with a share in the film’s profit and wishes not to deliver the dialogues in the Telugu language, which didn’t sit well with the filmmaker, leading him to remove her from the movie, which will star Prabhas in the lead role. After she was removed, Triptii reportedly took her place to act in the lead role.
Deepika Padukone has taken a break from her acting career after giving birth to her child, Dua. Reports claimed that Deepika didn’t hire any nanny for her daughter, just like the other Bollywood actresses, and has been single-handedly taking care of her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh.
