Queen Camilla complemented her vibrant blue Fiona Clare dress with the historic Russian sapphire cluster brooch for President Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday in Windsor, England.
King Charles III joined the queen consort to welcome President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to Windsor Castle. Queen Camilla opted for a vibrant, mostly monochrome look in her blue Fiona Clare dress, a piece she keeps in her royal wardrobe rotation.

The dress was paired with a Philip Treacy hat and a pair of Eliot Zed shoes in taupe suede for a neutral element. But it was the Russian sapphire cluster brooch that stood out from Queen Camilla’s ensemble. The jewelry piece is “a stunning sapphire, diamond and gold filigree brooch that’s said to have been originally owned by Empress Marie Feodorovna of Russia,” Maxwell Stone, a fine jewelry expert from U.K. retailer Steven Stone, told WWD via email.
“According to the palace, the brooch was left to Queen Elizabeth II when Queen Mary passed away in 1953, however it was the Queen Mother who would carry on wearing it. After the Queen Mother’s death in 2002, it returned to Queen [Elizabeth] II’s collection,” Stone said.

The historic brooch “features 18 large diamonds around a smaller, detailed gold setting, with a large eight to 10 sapphire stone in the centre,” Stone said.
Since inheriting the brooch from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection, following the long-reigning monarch’s death in September 2022, Queen Camilla’s worn the piece on other significant occasions, often coordinating the brooch with other sapphire tone sartorial statements.

For instance, the queen consort wore the brooch for the 2023 Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London. Queen Camilla often wears pieces from Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelry collection and inherited such pieces as the sapphire tiara, coronation day necklace and Cartier sapphire and diamond flower brooches, among other notable pieces.
