“Toy Story” is turning 30 in November, and Disney and Pixar have invited Levi’s to help celebrate the franchise’s milestone anniversary.
Inspired by Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and other characters from the movie, Levi’s created a new collection that blends the brand’s Western-inspired heritage with the nostalgic appeal of “Toy Story.” Set to release on Oct. 2, the collection will include rodeo-ready jackets, T-shirts and, of course, a lot of denim.
“When we were thinking about opportunities and cool ways to elevate ‘Toy Story’ in the fashion space, we kept going back to denim. Each character has such a distinct aesthetic, and we knew we wanted to lean into Woody’s Western style, so Levi’s felt like such a natural fit,” Liz Shortreed, SVP of Americas and global softlines at Disney Consumer Products, told WWD via email.

Design teams from Levi’s and Pixar Studios spent time together at the apparel brand’s headquarters in San Francisco to create the collection. “When you look at Pixar stories, there’s so much lore, so much nostalgia and it’s really powerful. You look at the history and realize how timeless the characters are, they really hold up and feel modern, like no time has passed. When the teams kicked off conversations, there was just an incredible amount to work with,” Shortreed said.
For men, the collection introduces the Levi’s x Toy Story Western jacket with a cropped silhouette in piece-dyed bull denim. The piece comes with custom studs featuring five film-inspired motifs: Woody’s belt buckle, Space Ranger logo, Pizza Planet emblem, Woody’s boot logo and cactus design with quilted interior lining and a limited Woody patch.

Another highlight of the collection is the Levi’s x Toy Story Rodeo shirt, which features ecru denim with allover cow print, contrast black piping and chest embroidery that says, “Hey Howdy Hey.” Men’s bottoms include the Western flare, featuring double-kneed carpenter styling, and the Loose jean, complete with matching patch details.
For women, the collection draws inspiration from Jessie, as seen in the Levi’s x Toy Story Type II jacket. The piece comes in rinse indigo with a Western silhouette and a “Yodelayheehoo” chain stitch embroidery.

The Levi’s x Toy Story collaboration also includes accessories, such as a denim hat, a tote and a bandana set.
“Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang are timeless characters, much like Levi’s garments which celebrate everyday style rather than fleeting trends.” Leo Gamboa, Levi’s VP of merchandising and design collaborations, said. “The collection bridges generations, tapping into nostalgia while introducing Pixar’s magic to new audiences, and reinforces Levi’s place at the intersection of heritage and pop culture.”
