In Jaipur, a man disrupted his own mother’s cremation over a piece of silver jewellery. The video of the incident is going viral all over the social media.

The incident took place in the Viratnagar region of Jaipur Rural. On May 3, 80-year-old Chheeter Reger passed away. Her body was taken to the nearby cremation ground for the final rites by her sons and relatives. As preparations for the funeral pyre were underway, a heated dispute broke out.

Before placing the dead on the pyre, family elders handed over her silver bangles and other ornaments to her elder son Girdhari Lal, who took care of her while she was alive. The younger son, Omprakash, reacted angrily to this gesture. In a shocking move, he laid down on the funeral pyre and refused to let the cremation proceed unless the silver bangles were given to him.

Relatives and villagers tried to convince him to step down and let the cremation take place, but Omprakash refused to listen. At one point, he even threatened to burn himself along with the body if his demand was not met. Eventually, people forcibly removed him from the pyre, but he sat beside it, continuing his protest.

Only after the ornaments were handed over to him did he agree to let the cremation continue. The funeral, which was initially prepared around noon, was delayed by nearly two hours due to the altercation.
The video of the incident, capturing Omprakash’s extreme protest and the chaos at the cremation ground, is now being widely circulated online.

According to villagers, there has been a long-standing property dispute between Omprakash and his brothers. He reportedly lives separately from the family and has often felt isolated.
