Zee TV, known for presenting powerful narratives rooted in resilience and emotional truth, is all set to launch its upcoming fiction drama Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. The show tells the inspiring story of Ganga Mai, played by Shubhangi Latkar, a woman abandoned by her husband for not bearing a son. Refusing to bow down to societal pressures, she raises her three daughters with dignity, compassion, and strength.
Sheizaan Khan opens up about his heroic entry as Siddhu in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan; says, “What drew me in was his innocence”
Adding to the compelling ensemble cast is actor Sheizaan Khan, who will be seen as Siddhant aka Siddhu. Joining Srishti Jain (as Sahana), Amandeep Sidhu (as Sneha), and Vaishnavi Prajapati (as Soni), Sheizaan makes what the makers call a “hero wali entry” in the show.
Siddhu is introduced as a rowdy boy from Banaras — rough on the outside but with a heart of gold. Deeply devoted to his mother, Siddhu treats her every wish as sacred. Though not formally educated, he has earned power and respect in his city through his wealth and his role in his mother’s moneylending business. While people fear him, his true strength lies in his empathy and fairness.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love at first sight with Sneha (Amandeep Sidhu), a bold yet compassionate woman whose spirit reminds him of the strength he admires in his mother.
Speaking about the role, Sheizaan Khan shared, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back on Zee TV, it truly feels like a homecoming for me because this is where I began my journey with Jodha Akbar. Playing Siddhu in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan has been a beautiful and challenging experience. On the surface, he may look like a rowdy moneylender, but what drew me in was his innocence and the way his entire world revolves around his mother. That emotion is so pure, so real, and it gave me an instant connect”.
“As an actor, I find it fulfilling to portray characters with contrasting shades, and Siddhu has plenty, he’s feared by people, yet he can melt in a moment of love. His bond with Sneha is that of love at first sight. The narrative of Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan promises a mix of drama, love, and strength and it is all set to premiere on September 22, airing every night at 9 PM, only on Zee TV.
