A 33-year-old nun was found dead in a convent in Kerala’s Kollam district, police said. Officers have described the incident as a case of suicide after a note was recovered from her room.
The woman, a native of Tamil Nadu, was discovered hanging in her room at the convent on Monday evening. She was rushed to hospital but was declared dead on arrival, according to an officer from Kollam East police station.
Police said a suicide note was found in her room. The note mentioned that she was struggling with “psychological” issues but did not provide further details.
A case of unnatural death has been registered at Kollam East police station, and inquest proceedings are currently under way.
