Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Assam, recalled Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika’s legacy, expressing pain over Congress remarks that belittled the honour. He said the wounds of the Northeast from the 1962 war under Nehru remain unhealed. Calling his first visit after “Operation Sindoor” a divine experience blessed by Maa Kamakhya, Modi linked the occasion with Janmashtami celebrations. He also reiterated his vision of a future security policy inspired by Shri Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra.
