Ileana D’Cruz left a strong mark in Bollywood with her debut role in Anurag Basu’s superhit film, Barfi, opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Currently, she is on a break from acting as she is busy nurturing her babies. Yes, Ileana has chosen to stay away from the limelight as she is enjoying a quieter, family life in Texas with her husband and children. Recently, she opened up about the reason why she won’t let her kids get papped.
Ileana D’Cruz revealed she won’t let photographers click her children’s photo
In a recent interview with NDTV, Ileana talked about the her future plans of being in Indiawith her children, but she finds the idea of being photographers with he children a bit unsettling. She expressed that it won’t be easy for her to get photographed with her babies. She added that it would leave her children confused and they might not understand it. She said:
“It would definitely have been hard for me to be photographed with my babies. It would just be incredibly confusing for them. And it’s not fair to them because they wouldn’t understand what is going on. I would not be okay with it.”
Ileana stated that her children are very young and they might not understand why they were constantly being followed and photographers. All the attention might affect their idea of normalacy. She also recalled positive interaction with the photographers. She stated that they had listened to her whenever she asked them not to click her pictures. Ileana said:
“I’ve had a good relationship with the paps in Bombay, and every time I have told them, ‘Listen, I’m not comfortable, please don’t take a picture,’ they’ve actually respected my wishes. So if it were to come to that, I think they would understand not to take pictures of the babies.”
When Ileana shared that she had not kept nanny for her children despite being exhausted
Earlier, during an interaction with Neha Dhupia on Instagram Live, Ileana talked about motherhood and expressed that she doesn’t want to keep a nanny for her children. She revealed that she manages her children on her own, even on days when she is exhausted. Ileana stated that she likes to be hand-on mother and doesn’t want to lose touch of her children’s daily life. She said:
“We don’t have help and the good thing about being in Bombay (Mumbai) is that you do have access to a lot more help. And you have access to just so many things, like, you know, my friends are there and it’s home in a way, far more than what Houston is at the moment. But I think what was nice about being here (in the US) is the privacy of it all. It was just nice to sort of be in my own little bubble.”

Ileana tied the knot with Michael Dolan in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2023. She welcomed her first child, Koa Pheonix Dolan in August. And in 2025, the couple embaraced parenthood once again with their second son, Keanu Rafe Dolan.
