Raj Kundra has come forward to address a serious allegation of fraud worth Rs. 60 crores made against him and his wife, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has reportedly issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) for the couple in connection with the case filed by businessman Deepak Kothari.

The complaint alleges that between 2015 and 2023, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra took money from Kothari under the pretext of business expansion. It is claimed that a portion of these funds was instead misused for personal expenses. Kothari has asserted that Shetty had provided a personal guarantee in April 2016, later resigned as director of the company in September of the same year, and then became unresponsive when Kothari asked for repayment.
Speaking to India Today, Kundra firmly denied all wrongdoing. “Let’s just wait and watch because that’s life for you, and we have not said anything about it because we know we haven’t done anything wrong. The truth will come out eventually. We’ve never done anything wrong in life, and we never will,” he said.
Authorities are currently investigating the financial transactions involved, including the travel logs of the couple, as they attempt to trace the alleged flow of funds. The case has also drawn in an auditor who carried out audits and has been summoned by the police in relation to the petition filed with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
As of now, both Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty maintain their innocence. With the legal process underway, many await further evidence and clarifications, expecting that the true circumstances behind the accusations will become clear in due course.
Shilpa Shetty recently announced the closure of her popular Bandra restaurant, Bastian, before revealing she had launched a new dining outlet instead. Raj Kundra, on the other hand, has been exploring acting, starring alongside Geeta Basra in the Punjabi film Mehar.
