On September 11, 2025, Erika Kirk was seen getting off Air Force Two with Usha Vance, who held her hand in a quiet gesture of support. Both women wore black attire and dark sunglasses as they made their way down the plane steps. The emotional sight left netizens in despair. They were joined by Vice President JD Vance, who personally ensured Charlie’s casket was flown from Utah to Arizona, his home. The Turning Point USA founder will be laid to rest in Arizona, as decided by his family. A video clip of Erika and Usha walking together surfaced on X, where they shared it with the caption:
“This is heartbreaking. God give strength to Erika Kirk and the two wonderful kids.”
It marked the 31-year-old widow’s first public appearance since her husband’s death. But despite the overwhelming emotions, she held herself strong for her husband’s final journey home. For Erika, the tragedy is not only the loss of a husband but the father of their two toddlers since the couple has a daughter who turned three in August 2025 and a one-year-old baby boy.

Charlie’s death has shaken the USA. On September 10, 2025, he was on the next stop of his ‘American Comeback’ tour, where he hosted a Q&A session at Utah Valley University. In the middle of the session, a bullet struck him in the neck. He was immediately rushed for emergency medical attention, but the 31-year-old could not be saved. The authorities initially detained a suspect described as an elderly man, but later released him. The FBI has since taken over the investigation, searching for the individual responsible. President Donald Trump himself condemned the incident.
