American right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead on September 10, 2025, during an interaction with students at Utah Valley University. The incident has sent shockwaves across the United States, sparking political outrage over his killing. However, as tributes from political leaders and several Hollywood celebrities pour in, one of Kirk’s most controversial remarks from recent times, aimed at Indian immigrants, has resurfaced.

Charlie Kirk’s sharp remarks on Indian immigrants in America

Just a week before his unexpected death, Charlie Kirk had sparked debate for his controversial remarks on immigrants, especially those from India. The 31-year-old Fox News anchor’s political stance has been mired in controversy over the years, but this was one of the most controversial things he had said in recent times.

Kirk’s scathing remarks about Indian immigrants, posted on September 2, 2025, have resurfaced amid the ongoing discussions about his death. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Kirk attacked Indians and wrote:

“America does not need more visas for people from India. Perhaps no form of legal immigration has so displaced American workers as those from India. Enough already. We’re full. Let’s finally put our own people first.”

Kirk’s remarks were a direct response to a comment made by Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham, who argued that Washington would need to grant visas to more Indians to make any trade deal with New Delhi. Kirk, an active supporter of the ‘America First’ doctrine, reposted the tweet, reinstating that America now needs to put its own people first.
