The popular saying goes “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and nowhere is that truer than at Donna Karan. The revived label continues to deliver reliable professional clothing for women who like to look good and feel good and aren’t afraid to show off a soft version of their power. For spring, the team looked for inspiration in nature, with ocean-swept burnout velvets, liquid satins, and a sandy palette full of rich textures juxtaposed with the hard concrete prevalent in the city.

The effusive femininity for which Donna Karan was known was present in sensually draped dresses, tie details, and semi-sheer silks and knits (which will be properly lined once they hit stores). The collaborations with Robert Lee Morris are expanding beyond embellishments in the clothes and into jewelry; the earrings, necklaces, and bracelets weigh just enough to feel luxe.

Also included in this collection is the first drop from a more casual offering, which the brand has appropriately named Donna Karan New York Weekend. Breezy cotton shirtdresses, blouses, and sporty linen cargo pants round out many women’s wardrobes.
