Three “only at Target” CD editions of Taylor Swift‘s The Life of a Showgirl album are available to pre-order now (Sunday, Sept. 7) on Target’s website, while supplies last. Pre-orders will be delivered on Oct. 3, Showgirl‘s release date, or shortly after.

The Target-exclusive CDs include a 19” x 9.5″ double-sided, folded poster of Swift that’s unique to each edition.

Each of the three CDs also features an alternate album cover — in the themes of “It’s Frightening,” “It’s Rapturous” and “It’s Beautiful,” all of which were first seen in a limited pre-sale on Swift’s webstore that quickly sold out. (Instead of an exclusive poster, the webstore limited-edition CDs were packaged with photo cards and jewelry.)

Select U.S. store locations will have the three Target-exclusive CDs available to purchase in person at midnight local time on Oct. 3. Target’s website has published a list of participating stores organized by state.

In addition to pre-orders for the three Target-exclusive and four webstore-exclusive CD variants of The Life of a Showgirl, Swift’s webstore previously launched pre-orders for (and sold out of) three sets of limited edition vinyl variants of the star’s upcoming 12th studio album: the “Shiny Bug” edition, pressed on wintergreen onyx and violet shimmer discs; the “Baby, That’s Show Business” edition, on lovely bouquet orange and lakeside beach blue discs, and the “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne” edition, on under bright lights pearlescent and red lipstick & lace discs. Collectors had to be early birds in order to snag these — none remain available to purchase. Swift announces new webstore releases via her email list.

Details about The Life of a Showgirl were officially announced by the showgirl herself on Aug. 12 via New Heights, the podcast fiancé Travis Kelce’s hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. The set’s main cover, its 12-song tracklist and its Oct. 3 release date were revealed during the podcast episode.

Swift said she reunited with producers Max Martin and Shellback for her new project during the European leg of The Eras Tour, noting that her “main goals were melodies that were so infectious, you’re almost angry at it.” The trio first collaborated during 2012’s Red era, on singles including “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and went on to expand their creative relationship on 2014’s 1989 (“Shake It Off,” “Blank Space” and more) and 2016’s Reputation (“…Ready for It?” and “End Game” among their credits).

The Life of a Showgirl follows The Tortured Poets Department, Swift’s eleventh studio album, which was released in 2024. Tortured Poets held the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 for a total of 17 weeks.
