Three students died in a road accident late Friday night on the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway in Gujarat.

The boys, studying at Rajkot’s RK University, were on their way to Diu from Rajkot when the tragic incident occurred.

According to initial information, the accident occurred when the car carrying the students overturned after the driver lost control of the steering.

Visuals from the accident spot show the overturned car in a mangled state.

A total of 11 people were travelling in the car at the time of the accident. Eight others sustained minor injuries and were rescued from the overturned car with the assistance of a JCB machine.

The dead students have been identified as Mothe Harsa, Afraz Sheikh, and Naresh Kodavati. All three were 19-year-old and hailed from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The bodies of those dead were transported to Rajkot Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
