    India has exempted certain migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet from penal action under the new immigration law. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump called India the “most tariffed nation” while claiming New Delhi offered him a “no tariff” trade deal.India exempts minority migrants from penal action under new lawMigrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, belonging to six minority communities, who entered India before December 31, 2024, will not face penal action under the new Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
