The buzz around ‘Don 3’ refuses to die down. Since the project was officially announced with Ranveer Singh taking on the icnonic role of Don, speculation about the film’s cast and scale has been growin. Now, sources tell India Today that Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, two actors who have previously played ‘Don’, have been approached to join the third instalment.

Industry insiders say both Bachchan and Khan are considering the offer. While no official confirmation has come in, the possibility of seeing three generations of Don on screen together is exciting. If this materialises, it will mark the first time the trio, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh, will share screen space.

Rumours around ‘Don 3’ have been swirling for months. From whispers about its storyline to debates over whether Shah Rukh Khan would reprise his role after passing the baton, the film has consistently kept audiences intrigued. Farhan Akhtar, who rebooted the franchise in 2006, is expected to push the boundaries once again, with the latest chapter being billed as bigger and bolder.

The Don franchise holds a unique place in Bollywood’s history. Amitabh Bachchan immortalised the role in the 1978 cult classic directed by Chandra Barot. Shah Rukh Khan revived the role for a new generation with films in 2006 and 2011. Now, Ranveer Singh is set to lead the franchise’s latest chapter.

For now, all eyes are on whether Big B and King Khan will sign on the dotted line. If they do, ‘Don 3’ could become a once-in-a-lifetime cinematic event.

Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey, who was earlier signed for a key role, has reportedly stepped down. Reports suggest Karanveer Mehra is being considered as his replacement.
