US President Donald Trump downplayed concerns over a growing partnership between Russia and China, saying he is “not concerned at all” about an axis forming against the United States.
His remarks came during an appearance on The Scott Jennings Radio Show, where he was asked about Chinese President Xi Jinping hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders at a summit in Tianjin earlier this week.
TRUMP DOWNPLAYS RUSSIA-CHINA AXIS
When questioned about whether the strengthening ties between Moscow and Beijing pose a threat to Washington, Trump dismissed the notion, insisting it was not a matter of worry for him.
The summit in Tianjin marked another show of alignment between Russia, China and India. The leaders called for closer cooperation in global affairs.
This comes amid Trump’s global crackdown on tariffs, which has heightened trade disputes.
‘VERY DISAPPOINTED’ WITH PUTIN
The US President also expressed his dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin, particularly over Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
“I am very disappointed in President Putin, I can say that, and we will be doing something to help people live,” Trump said, without specifying what measures his administration was considering.
