We’ve known for a few months now that Michael Jordan’s timeless eleventh signature sneaker would receive a women’s-exclusive release dubbed “Grand Finale” this holiday season and now, a fresh detailed look at the upcoming style has surfaced courtesy of JD Sports.

With a full colorway of Sail/Pearl Gray/White/Metallic Silver, the upcoming Air Jordan 11 Retro dons a soft off-white aesthetic that’s livened up with silver accents and the addition of a removable pearlescent shoe charm. 

Further differentiating this pair from standard Air Jordan 11s is the addition of a leather upper and eyelets where ballistic mesh material usually fills in the sneaker. The model’s typical round shoelaces have been swapped with a thick ribbon material which gives the shoe some added elegance. The Air Jordan 11’s signature patent leather overlay remains unchanged, appearing in a light gray shade.

Nike, Inc. and its Jordan Brand subsidiary have experimented with similar shoe charms on various recent releases including Valentine’s Day Air Jordan 3s, Air Force 1s adorned with gold and more. While many participants in the shoe charm trend opt for a DIY approach, it certainly makes it easier to get involved when the sneakers come pre-packaged with the needed accessories. 

Also on the way for the Air Jordan 11 model is the first-ever reissue of the Gamma Blue from 2013, a new Rare Air colorway and a kid’s glow-in-the-dark makeup that will be released near Halloween. 

Often heralded as one of Jordan’s most important sneakers, the dress shoe-inspired Air Jordan 11 popularized the use of patent leather on athletic footwear. In years past, the popular model has been cited in earnings calls for breaking brand sales records.

Despite the arrival of new retailer images, the context behind the style’s “Grand Finale” nickname has not yet been determined. What we do know is that the new Air Jordan 11 Retro is set to debut on Nov. 11 with a style code of AR0715-110 and an expected retail price of $230.
