Birkenstock is trekking further into the world of beauty.
The functional shoe brand, celebrated for its soft footbeds and suede leather shells, announced plans to expand its Care Essentials collection, a line of beauty products, to include four new body care necessities. This drop comes as the brand continues to post double-digit revenue growth.
Birkenstocks’ new Care Essentials Balancing Hand and Body Lotion, priced at $39.95.
The Care Essentials line — which already includes bath salts, exfoliating scrubs, nourishing balms and dry oils made in Germany — will now feature a Balancing Hand and Body Wash, a Relaxing Hand and Body Wash, a Balancing Hand and Body Lotion, a Relaxing Hand and Body Lotion, the Balancing Body Care Duo and the Relaxing Body Care Duo. Prices range from $29.95 to $39.95. The duo sets are only available in travel sizes.
In an effort to position itself on the frontlines of the all-natural beauty movement, Birkenstock has been intentional when it comes to picking the product ingredients. Both the Balancing and Relaxing Hand and Body Washes are made with organic lime water and plant-based surfactants, while the body lotions infuse red algae extract, botanical hyaluron and organic jojoba oil. The fragrance of the Balancing product is comprised of cedarwood, sandalwood, blood orange and notes of cypress. Relaxing, on the other hand, combines cedarwood, juniper, thyme and rosemary essential oils.

Birkenstock launched Care Essentials in late 2024 as an extension of its holistic ideology, connecting the mind and body “from the feet up.” The debut also coincided with the brand’s 250th anniversary. At the time, Quentin Ojeda, director of the collection spoke with WWD, explaining, “Looking at our archive and at what Carl Birkenstock wrote back then in the late ’40s, we had foot care always as a pillar of foot health.…We see simply, now that we’re celebrating the 250 years, the perfect occasion to simply extend and complete our 360 approach to foot health with this collection.”
Ojeda continued: “The footbed is the perfect companion to bring you from A to B, but when you rest at home, the Care Essentials line is there when you are not moving.”
In May, the brand brought the line to life with the opening of its foot care pop-up at The Grove in Los Angeles. Held inside an apothecary-inspired space, the sensorial experience allowed customers to explore the products and the story behind them.
