His impactful presence in the BB19 house and interactions with other contestants have been in the spotlight since day one of the Salman Khan show. His latest statement, which is going viral, concerns his differing opinion with his wife, Akanksha Chamola, regarding having children.
Gaurav Khanna’s wife, Akanksha Chamola doesn’t want kids
In the August 27, 2025, episode of Bigg Boss season 19, Gaurav Khanna opened up about his wife, Akanksha Chamola’s stance on having kids during a candid chat with fellow contestant, Mridul Tiwari. The latter asked Gaurav how long he had been married. As Gaurav replied, it had been nine years since his marriage, and a curious Mridul asked if he had become a dad yet. Gaurav declined, explaining that Akanksha Chamola, his wife, wasn’t ready to become a parent.

Gaurav shared that he had a conversation with Akanksha about becoming parents, wherein she revealed her thought process behind her decision. As per him, her hesitation regarding having kids was rooted in valid concerns about the significant responsibilities of parenthood. Being a celebrity parent is not as easy a task as the netizens think it to be. Akanksha took into consideration the demanding careers in the entertainment industry while making the choice.
Gaurav Khanna wanted kids, but acceded to Akanksha Chamola’s preference
The Aupamaa actor expressed his support and respect for his wife’s choice, noting that he would have to accept her decision because they entered into a “love marriage”. Although the couple has a difference in opinion regarding parenthood, Gaurav’s words revealed that it wasn’t an issue between them. He considers her decision ultimate in this matter and justifies it as his act of love for her. Opening about the same to Mridul, Gaurav said:
“Unko chahiye hi nahi. Mujhko chahiye toh, but love marriage hai toh jo woh bolegi toh mujhe karna padega. Pyar kiya toh nibhana toh padega. Unki apni soch bi sahi hai. Responsibility hoti hai bahut. Aur hum log sirf do hai. Main har waqt kaam karta hoon aur kal ko unko kaam mil gya toh bacchon ko akela nahi chodna. Mere ko chahiye tha, but usne mujhe yeh baat samjhayi.”
Gaurav and Akanksha are open to changing their minds about parenthood
On hearing Gaurav’s heartfelt confession about why they were childless after nine years of marriage, he asked whether the couple felt that just being together was enough. To that, Gaurav said that it was not like he and his wife would never discuss having kids again. After a few years, if they feel the timing and situations are right, they might want to add a new member to their family of two. Regarding the uncertainties of life, he said:
“Dekhenege aage, but never say never.”
Akanksha Chamola’s past comment about parenthood
With Gaurav’s unfiltered insight into his and his wife, Akanksha’s, differing opinions regarding kids, a past comment of hers has resurfaced. She previously addressed the topic of parenthood during a conversation with Ruchita Sharma in 2024. During that time, Akanksha revealed that she was often asked whether she wanted to embrace motherhood, as it had been almost a decade since her marriage to Gaurav. She playfully dodged it by stating that she was already “taking care of a big child” (referring to her husband), and that she appreciated his non-pressuring attitude towards parenthood.
